What do you think about item prices?

I know there is no money in game but when you exchange items they have a certain numeric value. Is it constant or shared between merchants? I don't know. What I do know is my experience. Now I want to buy my first car repair kit and I don't know if what I carry with me will be enough or too much for the exchange.

Should we put a buy/sell "price" when talking about the items?
