Note: This page contains a brief overview of the Refrigerator. It will be expanded with more information over time.
Overview[]
In the later game stages you can build a "Refrigerator" to store food and make it last longer.
It can be unlocked in the "technology" tree once you acquire certain items and reach certain "Skill" levels (more information below).
It requires a connection to electricity and 100 watts to operate.
Looting the Refrigerator Drawings (Item)[]
In order to unlock the "Refrigerator" in the "Technology" tree you first need to loot the following item.
- "Refrigerator Drawings" = Found in loot containers in the world.
Refrigerator (Technology Tree)[]
Before building a "Refrigerator" you first need to unlock it in the "Technology" tree. To unlock it you need the following items:
- "Electrification Grade 4" = See the "Skills" page for more information.
- "Engineering Grade 3" = See the "Skills" page for more information.
- "Mechanical Grade 3" = See the "Skills" page for more information.
- 3 x "Electrical Wire" = Loot or craft at the "Processing Table" or "Machining Table".
- 1 x "Refrigerator Drawings" = Found in loot containers in the world.
Building a Refrigerator[]
Once the "Refrigerator" has been unlocked in the "Technology" tree, use the "Construction Hammer" and go to the "Furniture" tab. Choose the "Refrigerator" and place the blueprint.
Add the following items to the blueprint to complete it:
- 5 x "Aluminum Ingot" = Craft at the "Melting Furnace" or "Electric Furnace".
- 10 x "Delicate Parts" = Loot or craft at the "Machining Table".
- 5 x "Electrical Wire" = Loot or craft at the "Processing Table" or "Machining Table".
- 15 x "Electronic Component" = Loot or craft in later game stages.
- 1 x "Condenser" = Found in loot containers in the world.
- 3 x "Plastic" = Loot or craft in later game stages.
- 3 x "Rubber" = Loot or craft in later game stages.
- 5 x "Glass" = Craft at the "Melting Furnace" or "Electric Furnace".
After the "Refrigerator" has been built you need to set the "Battery" table that it will draw its power from. Interact with the "Refrigerator" to open the interface then go to the "Electricity" tab. Click the "Connect" button next to the name of the "Battery" table you wish to use for power.
Using the Refrigerator[]
Place your perishable food or drink items in the "Refrigerator" and it will keep them for much longer than usual.
Note that the "Freshness" bar on the food or drink item will not have a larger value but instead will take a significantly longer time to go down.
Refrigerator vs Wooden Box (Storage)[]
The following table shows how much longer the "Refrigerator" will keep food and drink when compared to a "Wooden Box":
Item | Start Freshness | Refrigerator End Freshness | Wooden Box End Freshness |
---|---|---|---|
Delicious Canned Fruit Meat | 25.5 of 40.0 | 25.0 of 40.0 | 23.6 of 40.0 |
Corn Wine | 6.99 of 60.0 | 6.49 of 60.0 | 5.29 of 60.0 |
Strawberry | 2.83 of 3.0 | 2.42 of 3.0 | 1.41 of 3.0 |
Bread | 2.83 of 3.0 | 2.42 of 3.0 | 1.41 of 3.0 |
Note that the food and drink was left for about two hours then checked again to get the above values.
