Note: This page contains a brief overview on how to find and repair a vehicle that you can drive around. It will be expanded with more information over time.

Vehicles Overview[]

You can find and repair a vehicle to use as your personal transport and storage. The spawn location of some vehicles is fixed and they are always there (e.g. the airfield has a pickup truck) whilst other locations spawn a random vehicle.

A vehicle is very useful when traveling large distances as it can move much faster than the player when running.

The storage area in the rear of the vehicle has a limited size but can carry unlimited weight making it extremely helpful. All of the vehicles have the same amount of storage space.

Types of Vehicles[]

There are three types of vehicles that can be repaired and used:

  • Pickup Truck = See the video below for more information and a location.
  • Sedan = See the image below for a possible location.
  • Hatchback = See the image below for a possible location.

Important: there might be more vehicle types that the author of this page is not yet currently aware of!

You can easily tell if a vehicle can be driven as it will have smoke coming out of it before you repair it.

Finding a Vehicle[]

When starting a new game the vehicles that need to be repaired are always in the same locations.Below are some known vehicle locations:

  • Behind the barn where you spawn is a vehicle spawn point (it can be any vehicle type).
  • Near the airfield is a pickup truck (click here for the location in the video above or view the image below).
  • Near a factory is another vehicle spawn point (it can be any vehicle type).

Repairing a Vehicle[]

In order to repair the vehicle you need a "Car Repair Kit". During the early stages of the game you cannot yet craft a "Car Repair Kit" but you can purchase it from a trader/merchant/vendor. Their locations are marked on the map ingame (press M to view the map ingame). You can refer to the wiki page for the map which has the correct location marked by clicking here. The vehicle trader/merchant/vendor is on the west side of the map in the middle.

Once you have at least one "Car Repair Kit" (preferably bring two to fully repair it) approach the rear of the vehicle and interact with it. Place the "Car Repair Kit" in the vehicle storage area then click the repair vehicle button at the top of the window. Each "Car Repair Kit" will repair the vehicle by 50% and you do not need to fully repair it to be able to drive it.

Fueling a Vehicle[]

After repairing your vehicle you next need to add some fuel to it. You can find fuel by looting and it is most often found in other broken down (non-repairable) vehicles or in fuel bowsers at fuel stations.

Approach the rear of the vehicle and interact with it. Drag your "Fuel" container into the fuel slot. A small container of fuel adds 1 liter whilst the largest fuel container adds 10 liters of fuel.

Driving a Vehicle[]

Now that your vehicle has been repaired and fueled it is ready to drive. Interact with the drivers side door (the left front side) to get in the vehicle and drive it around.

Vehicle Damage[]

The vehicle can be damaged by crashing into other objects including zombies.

The vehicle can also be damaged by zombies hitting it so try to avoid letting them get too close. Be aware that during the horde night the zombies may attack your vehicle if it is too close to where you are standing.
